We received the order from the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) in Berlin to plan the whole technical building equipment (TGA) for the modernization of their trade union house "Old Legienhof" in Kiel.

The union house "Old Legienhof" is one of the most historical buildings in the heart of Kiel. It was built in 1904 with the intention to create a location for events for the steadily growing trade union and labor movement. From the beginning, the house accommodated a restaurant including a hugh meeting room. The „Old Legienhof“ restaurant offers several halls.
During the sailors' uprising and the revolution in November 1918, the Kiel workers' and soldiers' councils gathered in the union house.
The challenge of the enwacon engineers is to let the honorable building shine again and bring back its splendor. Therefore it is paid a lot of attention to the technical equipment and functions, which have to meet high demands with representative character. For national events and conferences, the central hall of Legienhof as well as its adjoined facilities will be equipped according to the requirements of a modern conference center including the latest media technology. The involvement of a restaurant with an associated bar will underline the high standards of a modern conference facility.
A kindergarten will also be integrated within the inner courtyard of the Legienhof.
 
The architectural and fire protection planning services are developed by Gans, an architectural office in Munich. As TGA planner, enwacon will plan all TGA-profiles for cost group 400 and will support the specialist site management later on. The reopenning of „Old Legienhof“ is scheduled for spring 2022 after a successful renovation.
