Festive opening of the sewage treatment plant in Langballig
The planning-team atd-enwacon (Aachen/Kiel) was assigned in 2017 to plan the expansion of the Langballig sewage treatment plant. The essential background to the dismantling of the old pond treatment plant and the new construction of a technical treatment plant was the protection of the creek Langballigau used as receiving water, as it is declined as a sensitive receiving water by EU water framework law.
The sewage treatment plant was built as a communal sewage treatment plant for the municipalities of Langballig and Westerholz. On October 23rd 2021, after a long planning process and the restrictions of the corona pandemic, the ceremonial inauguration of the sewage treatment plant took place.
