Laying of the foundation stone for sewage treatment plants in the Westerwald
On September 8th 2022, the foundation stone of the newly planned sewage treatment plant in Mehrbachtal was laid at the Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld in the presence of prominent figures.
The celebrities came from the state capital of Mainz - State Secretary Dr. Erwin Manz from Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy and Mobility. He made corresponding funding commitments and described the project as trend-setting in the region as it takes decisive steps to improve surface water in the region in connection with EU water framework law. The receiving water Mehrbach is considered a priority water and will in future be significantly relieved of the nutrient parameters P and N despite the expansion of the new sewage treatment plant, taking into consiceration the deterioration requirement.
