Digestate utlitsation concept

RWE Innogy GmbH is planning to build and operate a modern biogas plant in Münsterland. The part digestate has a significant impact on the profitability of the whole project. Therefore the existing concept has to be supplemented by an extended digestate utilisation concept.

Terms of reference for the following points:

• plausibility and functionality of a digestate utlitsation concept
• calculation of mass flows (input and output flows)
• nutrient balance
• assessment of the suitability of the individual process steps and the whole concept
• recommendation on the implementation.

The engineering elaborations were carried out in association with the engineering office ATD in Aachen.
